A climate-resilient, nature-rich playground for Iffley Fields
Bringing Nature Back to Play
We’re working with the local community, Oxford City Council and The Nature Effect to transform Meadow Lane Playground into a greener, more resilient space for children, the community and nature.
The changes combine natural play, planting, sustainable drainage and biodiversity improvements to help the playground respond to hotter summers, heavier rainfall and changing environmental conditions - while creating a beautiful, inclusive place to play and spend time together as a community. All existing play equipment is being retained in the process.
Connecting people with nature in Iffley Fields
With support from recent funding and in partnership with Friends of Aston’s Eyot, we’re developing welcoming nature connection activities in our local wild places including Aston’s Eyot and The Kidneys - bringing people together through seasonal activities, nature experiences, creative learning and time outdoors.
From play and planting to nature connection and community, the NaturEscape is about creating more opportunities for people and nature to thrive together.
